I am Pamela Holmes and a registered Childminder. I decided to do this as my chosen career to be able to assist children with their development, by helping them with their physical well-being, emotional well-being and with their education through assistance on homework and encouraging them to enhance their knowledge in all aspects of life, through life experiences as well as learning through play. The children are encouraged to participate in a number of activities; hand to eye co-ordination with different toys, playing outside with sand and the swing activity centre, gardening, going to playgroups for the younger ones, playing games and activities inside and out, gardening, learn about and do some painting and drawing, quiet reading times, fun times with writing, maths and of course, time for homework. I can also teach other languages in a fun environment if wanted. |

Child Protection statement
I have a legal responsibility to each child in my care to report any concerns I have for the child’s welfare to Social Services. I have experience in normal child development and common injuries that can happen at varying stages of development.
I will endeavour to observe and listen to children I look after. The child’s needs will be assessed, including a child’s need for protection from abuse and neglect; as well as their need for the prevention of impairment of their health and development - so they can reach their full potential.
It is good practice for the reason of the referral to be discussed with the family, unless it would clearly place the child at greater risk of abuse. If sexual abuse is suspected I will first discuss the matter with Social Services.
